Gala, blah blah…

The new skins from Gala Phoenix have been blogged to death by now… but I don’t care.  Anything this good needs to be raved about.

Let’s talk about Gala for a moment.

I have a friend who wears them exclusively.  Every time I see her,  I seethe with a dark inner longing to look as good in those skins.  I’ve actually gone and picked up the demos more than once, hoping that I was being overly critical the last time I looked.  Finally, I gave up.  The old Galas just didn’t suit me.  My features are just too angular, or something.

Then came the new line, which I’ve seen peeks of here and there for some time now.  I guess I’m an optimist, because I rushed out to pick up the demos as soon as I heard they were released.

Frankly, I’m astonished.  The detailing on this skin is impressive, without the creepy photo-sourced look that usually accompanies such realism.  The fresh, innocent blush to the cheeks… the delicate lips… the glossy smudge of the eye makeup… These skins are very… well, sweet.  On most people, that is.  On me, they look slightly mean.  But that’s ok, I prefer it that way. 😉

(BTW, I’m focusing on the face here, but the body is equally as impressive.  It’s got just about the sweetest little hooha you’ve ever seen.)

The outfit consists of some of my older favorites.

I can’t say enough good things about Cubic Effect… this skirt is one of my absolute staple pieces.   The things she does with sculpted clothing continue to impress me.  I was shocked to see I hadn’t actually blogged them yet, so I’ll be focusing on them soon in a post near you.

  1. Gala skns have never worked for me either, but I do love them and have recommended them for some of my shape offerings. Color me eternally optimistic as well, because now I can’t wait to try on the new demos. Thanks for the heads up!
